Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist and complete a variety of legal administrative duties in Real Estate law;

- Prepare and manage documentation for residential real estate transactions from beginning to end;

- Independently handle and co-ordinate closings from beginning to end;

- Communicate with other law offices to complete a closing;

- Conduct electronical registration/release searches;

- Prepare client and bank reports;

- Prepare accounts to clients and trust ledgers via conveyancer and PCLaw

- Manage client matters, adjustments, and readjustments after closing;

- Address property tax and utility departments;

- Prepare purchase, sale and refinance files for client sign ups;

- Correspond with clients to discuss file matters and request necessary information;

- Liaise with clients, lenders, lawyers, students, and public officials; and

- Additional tasks as required.

Requirements:

- 4+ years of experience in as a real estate law clerk in residential and private lending;

- Law Clerk, Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma;

- Strong technical skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);

- Experience with real estate related software such as Teraview, PCLaw, Conveyancer/Unity;

- Thorough understanding of the mechanics of a real estate transaction;

- Ability to work efficiently in a busy office, independently and in a team environment;

- Work well under pressure showing ability to problem solve;

- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize deadlines;

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; and

- Professional attitude with great client service skills.
