Real Estate Development Manager
to lead project execution, financial analysis, and team coordination across our portfolio.
Role Overview
Working closely with the development team, and reporting to the CEO, the Real Estate Development Manager will oversee all aspects of development projects from acquisition and entitlement through design, financing, construction, and stabilization. This role requires strong leadership, deep financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex projects while mentoring junior staff and coordinating consultants, contractors, and public agency partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development projects through the full lifecycle, from feasibility and acquisition to construction completion and operations handover.
Conduct detailed financial underwriting, pro forma modeling, and sensitivity analyses to evaluate opportunities and manage project performance.
Manage consultant teams (architects, engineers, contractors, legal, etc.) and foster strong relationships with municipal agencies, lenders, and investors.
Prepare and present development proposals, investment memoranda, and project updates to internal leadership, partners, and investors.
Provide leadership and coaching to junior team members, setting high standards for accountability and quality of work.
Monitor budgets, schedules, and reporting systems to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Contribute to broader business initiatives, including market research, strategic planning, and hospitality-related ventures.
Preferred Skills and Experience
10+ years of experience in real estate development and financial analysis (minimum 5 years required).
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
Ability to read construction drawings and manage pertinent consultants.
Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and execute complex real estate deals.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects concurrently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with Power BI, Adobe Creative Suite, web design, and domain management is an asset.
Background in hospitality development or operations is a strong asset.
Experience as a business analyst, with an understanding of legal structures and copywriting, is considered an advantage.
Strong local market knowledge, including development projects, consultants, and public agency relationships.
Ability to simplify and communicate complex information in a clear, compelling, and strategic manner.

Other Information
Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000. Actual salary will depend on experience, skills and qualifications.
A skill test related to real estate development, financial modeling, and investment presentations will be conducted during the interview process.
