Vaughan is your place to grow.Position OverviewResponsible for property agent functions which includes the evaluation and recommendation of sales, acquisitions and leasing of land and buildings for cash-in-lieu and parcel land within the City of Vaughan, and for the valuation of various parcels for municipal purposes. Negotiates agreements between the City and owners of property which includes recommending acceptable terms related to the transaction, adhering to policies and procedures. Drafts contents and prepares By-laws, Agreements of Purchase and Sale, Permission to Enter, Leases and other documents, and provides for review. Provides advice/guidance to City departments on various real estate related issues, policies/procedures.Qualifications and Experience

  • Community College Diploma in Business, Real Estate, or suitable equivalent.
  • Completion of Appraisal Institute of Canada courses and/or International Right of Way Association courses or equivalent Real Estate Administration courses.
  • Minimum of five (5) years\' relevant and progressive experience in real estate appraisal, sales, leasing and acquisition, preferably in a government/municipal environment.
  • Strong knowledge of legislative acts affecting real property, leases, and municipal development approvals and processes in the municipal environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation and communication skills. Excellent report writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public and with Council in matters of real estate.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Windows environment using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in the City\'s core and leadership competencies and relevant functional competencies.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a manner bestowing tact and diplomacy in a political environment, and when dealing with sensitive/confidential or controversial topics.
  • Possesses a valid Ontario \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d Driver\'s License, in good standing, with access to a reliable vehicle for corporate use.
