Real Estate and Development Specialist
(Salary Range $92,600 - $106,300 per year)
As part of the Planning Services team, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and management of all City-owned properties and lease agreements and for leading and supporting a variety of development initiatives aligned with Council's strategic priorities. Combining your real estate and asset management expertise with economic development acumen, you will ensure the City leverages its property portfolio to encourage responsible community growth. There is considerable liaison with local and provincial partners, investors, developers and other stakeholders to advance affordable housing initiatives, support economic diversification and maximize utilization of City-owned lands.
You have superior negotiation and communication skills, demonstrated success in building effective partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a political environment with tact and discretion.
The ideal candidates holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Law, Economic Development or a related field. Your background includes at least five years of progressive experience in municipal real estate, economic development or a related area and extensive experience in lease negotiations, land disposition, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.
