Woodcreek Dental Care is seeking an experienced and confident Lead Registered Dental Assistant to join our close, supportive team. This position has become available as our long-term RDA is stepping away for health reasons, and we are looking for someone who can continue the high standard of care and teamwork they help build. We are a small, patient-focused practice that specializes in IV sedation, and we pride ourselves on exceptional care and strong patient relationships.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and implant dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix , ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient well-being throughout procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
Support front desk operations by functioning as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently.
Maintain proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical coding, and medical documentation to facilitate seamless communication within the team.
Demonstrate expertise in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to optimize treatment efficiency.
Educate patients on oral health practices tailored to pediatric dentistry needs and provide post-treatment instructions clearly.
Experience
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with multiple procedures
Strong background in dental assisting with certification as an RDA Level 2
Sedation certificate preferred
Knowledge of Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation accurately.
Experience supporting specialized areas implants, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery and sedation
Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous.
Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care delivery.
