Summary / Role Purpose
The R&D Verification Engineer II joins the Design Business Unit (DBU) to conduct software testing of Ansys applications such as Discovery. This role assesses how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. The role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues.
Role requires an individual with an interest in exploring, investigating and critical thinking.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Specify and write test cases, create, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts
  • Perform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems
  • Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company\'s overall development, testing and quality processes
  • Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, VM\'s, Cloud
  • Work closely with other members of the product creation team to analyze requirements, execute interactive testing and develop automated tests suitable for new features
  • Help to assess how well the product will meet customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability
  • Participate in design and code reviews
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of experience, or MS in Mechanical Engineering with no experience
  • Programming experience in Python, C#, C++ or Visual Studio
  • Experience/Coursework with Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with CAE tools in industrial or academic projects, and familiarity with the associated engineering principles, preferably Ansys Fluent or Ansys CFX
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
  • A thorough and careful approach to work with close attention to detail and quality
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Genuine passion for testing and quality assurance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast paced and dynamic team
