Job Description

The R&D Student is a member of the Research & Development team reporting to the Product Developer. This position's responsibility is to participate in evaluation of flavours used in the snack portfolio.

Key activities



Matching Flavour Profiles of Existing Product:



Work with external flavour houses to match existing flavours on the snack portfolio.

Conduct sensory review of flavours and develop prototypes.

Participate in production line trials and collect samples for evaluation.

Organize and prepare samples for shelf-life sensory studies.

Document and report on status of various studies.



Laboratory and sensory analyses:



Work with the other members of the R&D team on developing various prototype products.

Prepare samples for sales and marketing activities.



Maintain R&D project and production files:



Document project work, prepare reports/summaries, update relevant databases.

Required training and experience

Enrolled or has completed a Bachelor of Science, Food Science or a degree.

Skills sought

Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.

Good understanding of food chemistry.

Team player and independent worker.

Mathematical aptitude and computer knowledge.

Strong written skills.



Specific of the position:



8 month co-op or contract starting January 2nd.
