The Formulation co-op is responsible for assisting with the execution of experiments in the laboratory to prepare lipid nanoparticle formulations, performing LNP characterization assays and assisting lab management activities.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Formulation, and is part of the R&D Formulation team located in Vancouver, BC. This is an on-site, lab based role.
What you will do:

• Assist formulation team members to formulate, troubleshoot and analyze lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids using a range of methods and instruments such as microfluidic mixing, dynamic light scattering, UV and fluorescent assays.
• Maintain appropriate lab records, prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports and technical presentations. Assist with the preparation of standardized documentation.
• Assist in the day-to-day management of the lab including ordering, inventory management, organization, improvement of workflows and maintaining a safe and clean lab environment.

Who you are:

• A current Canadian University student in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical or Biological Engineering, or relevant disciplines with hands-on experience in the lab.
• Hands-on lab experience, with a general knowledge of formulation, analytical or bioassay techniques including pipetting, weighing, pH adjustments and formulation relevant calculations.
• Must be resourceful, flexible, detail-oriented and organized team player with excellent communication skills.

The annual salary range for this role is $40K-$50K CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
