About the role:




The R&D Manager, Project Management will lead a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering innovative medical technologies within the Electrophysiology (EP) Capital Equipment business. This role provides leadership and strategic direction across multiple product development programs, ensuring alignment with Boston Scientific's commitment to improving patient outcomes through meaningful innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:



Leading and developing a team of R&D Project Managers, including recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and performance coaching. Driving cross-functional project execution and ensuring alignment with business priorities, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Overseeing multiple concurrent product development programs (e.g., Class I and II medical devices) through all stages of the product lifecycle. Standardizing project management processes, tools, and metrics to improve efficiency and ensure consistency across projects. Implementing best practices in time management, cost control, risk management, resource planning, and change management. Ensuring compliance with FDA Design Control, ISO 13485, and EU MDR requirements within all projects and documentation. Developing and maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional partners across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Marketing. Monitoring project health and taking corrective action when needed to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Fostering a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive culture where all employees can contribute to their full potential. Representing the R&D Project Management function in cross-site and cross-functional leadership discussions. Encouraging continuous improvement by staying informed about industry trends, technologies, and emerging tools in medical device project management.

Required qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline. 8+ years of experience in product development within a regulated industry. Proven experience in project and program management with a track record of launching and sustaining commercialized products. Strong understanding of design control processes, risk management, and regulatory compliance (FDA, QSR, ISO 13485, EU MDR). Experience leading cross-functional and multi-site teams. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead through change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to travel up to 25-30%.

Preferred qualifications:



Advanced degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or Business Administration (MBA). Experience managing capital equipment or electromechanical device development programs. Formal Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent). Experience with Agile or hybrid development frameworks. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate across all levels of the organization. Proven ability to drive operational excellence and process standardization initiatives.

Le ou la gestionnaire de projets R&D assurera le leadership, la vision et l'orientation au sein de l'equipe de gestionnaires de projets de la division des dispositifs medicaux en electrophysiologie (EP). A ce titre, vous serez charge de soutenir la croissance et le developpement continu de la fonction de gestion de projets R&D, superviser les membres du personnel technique et contribuer a definir et promouvoir l'excellence fonctionnelle. Vos responsabilites comprendront :



Diriger et developper une equipe de chefs de projet R&D, incluant le recrutement, la formation, le mentorat et le developpement professionnel et le coaching de performance. Piloter l'execution des projets interfonctionnels en assurant l'alignement avec les priorites de l'entreprise, les normes de qualite et les exigences reglementaires. Superviser l'execution de plusieurs programmes de developpement de produits simultanes (p. ex. dispositifs medicaux de classe I et II) a toutes les etapes du cycle de vie du produit. Normaliser les processus, outils et indicateurs de gestion de projet conformement aux methodes Stage-Gate, Agile ou hybrides. Developper la discipline de gestion de projet R&D de maniere transversale en se focalisant sur la gestion du temps, des risques, des ressources, des couts, et du changement ainsi que d'autres principes de gestion de projet Favoriser une culture de responsabilite, de collaboration et d'amelioration continue. Assurer la conformite aux exigences reglementaires de controle la conception et de la documentation( FDA, ISO 13485 EU MDR) Communiquer de maniere efficace avec les differents niveaux de direction, ainsi qu'avec les employes operationnels et techniques. Demontrer une aptitude a la performance dans un environnement en constante evolution tout en gerant plusieurs projets simultanement. Developper et maintenir une collaboration etroite avec les partenaires interfonctionnels en R&D, Qualite, Reglementaire, Operations et Marketing et les sites de developpement. Contribuer a renforcer l'engagement au sein du site et de l'equipe. Representer la fonction de gestion de projets R&D dans les discussions de leadership intersites et interfonctionnelles. Promouvoir l'amelioration continue en se tenant informe des tendances du secteur, des avancees technologiques et des nouveaux outils en gestion de projets de dispositifs medicaux.

Qualifications requises :



Diplome universitaire en ingenierie, en sciences ou dans une discipline technique connexe (B.Eng, M.Sc. ou MBA privilegie). Minimum de 8 ans d'experience en developpement de produits dans une industrie reglementee, de preference dans le domaine des dispositifs medicaux. Experience demontree en gestion de projets et de programmes avec un historique de lancements de produits commercialises. Fortes competences en resolution de problemes dans un esprit d'equipe. Excellentes competences organisationnelles, en resolution de problemes et en communication Excellentes competences en documentation.

Qualifications Souhaitees :



Diplome superieur en ingenierie, sciences biomedicales ou administration des affaires (MBA). Experience en gestion de programmes de developpement d'equipements capitaux ou de dispositifs electromecaniques. Certification formelle en gestion de projet (PMP, PRINCE2 ou equivalent). Experience avec les cadres de developpement Agile ou hybrides. Solides competences interpersonnelles avec la capacite d'influencer, de collaborer et de communiquer a tous les niveaux de l'organisation.
