SUMMARY
The R&D Engineer contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer will join a cross-functional squad to code, test and maintain core scientific solvers, both new and mature, following agile practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs basic development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
• Learns and employs best practices
• Performs basic bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products
• Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
• Works under the close supervision of a development manager and collaborates with Senior R&D Engineers to produce high-quality production code

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with object-oriented design, threads and parallel computing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years experience developing with C++ in a commercial setting
• Experience with software development for GPU or MPI or threading (CUDA or GLSL)
• Experience with tools for debugging, profiling and version control
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
• Keen interest in science, technology, engineering and math
