Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and self-motivated Ranch Hand / Handyman to join our team to help take care of the day-to-day tasks at the ranch. The ideal candidate can work independently and self-reliably and is happy to work outdoors.

This is a part-time position: 24 hours / week with a flexible schedule and weekend work as needed.

Location: 50 km from Merritt at 5420 Lauder Road, Quilchena, B.C. V0E 2R0 (Glimpse Lake)

Accommodation available if needed.

Main Duties:

You are responsible for the following:

Building, fixing and maintaining fences, paddocks, gates and ranch infrastructure General property maintenance and mowing Firewood production, road maintenance, basic repairs and light construction Operating machinery Maintain farm equipment; perform regular oil checks and equipment cleaning Daily inspections and problem-solving around the ranch

Valid driver's licence Own vehicle

Requirements:

Previous farm experience / experience with cattle work an advantage Valid driver's license A clean driving abstract and experience with trucks and trailers Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively and safely Experienced using farm machinery and tools Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance Physically fit / ability to lift 50+ lbs Able to work independently and take initiative
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.85 per hour
