Who are we looking for? GHD's Rail and Transit Business is looking for a Development Specialist to join the Ontario Transportation Team. This role will be located in Mississauga, Ontario. You will lead pursuits and proposals for transportation planning and design projects including highways, bridges, traffic engineering, rail, and transit. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Lead the development of high-quality, persuasive proposals, presentations
• Support and coach the technical team in the development and maintenance of high-quality marketing materials, including individual curricula vitae and project sheets
• Support the Business Group Leader in creating an executing strategies and initiatives in support of the regional business plans
• Research project backgrounds, timelines, client programs, and capital budgets
• Work with the proposal team, project manager, engineers to ensure technical input and content is aligned to the clients needs
• Assist the Project Team to create presentations and interviews for clients
• Ensure proper maintenance of proposal files and associated documents
• Coordinate input from the Pursuit Team and from subcontractors
• Participate in proposal debrief and lessons learned discussions
• Write and update overall project narratives, targeted narratives (woven around strategic themes) and case studies for key projects
• Develop concise project descriptions to use in proposals, presentation, leave behind materials
• Assist with selecting photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material. Write captions for selected artwork
• Anticipated workload is 50% proposal writing and 50% project deliverable technical writing

What you bring to the team:

• Minimum 5 years of experience writing technical proposals for an engineering, construction or professional services organization
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Photoshop, InDesign
• Effectively use graphic and organizational software to create key graphics (e.g. InDesign, Visio and/or PowerPoint)
• Clear, succinct, and engaging writer who understands how to tailor information for the target audience
