COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Quality Supervisor reports directly to the Quality Manager. The Quality Supervisor oversees the Quality Auditors and Inspectors for a prescribed shift, ensuring that customer expectations are maintained, and production needs are met. Support team initiatives to lower defect and return rates through effective collection of data, data driven investigations, root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective actions.RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure safety awareness and observance by all Quality team members
  • Responsible for building strong relationships with production and any cross functional teams.
  • Maintain Quality data collection system, ensuring that the information being input is both thorough and accurate
  • Identify and drive special projects that can lead to continuous improvements in product quality and/or cost
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of key process documents, including: FMEA, Control Plan, Standard Work, Product Standards
  • Oversee and input information into relevant databases for daily reporting
  • Ensure that production line product testing is completed as prescribed through regulatory bodies. Review test data frequently and escalate when unfavorable results are achieved. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on performance.
  • Responsible for securing all Quality equipment, including testers, gages and tools. Must maintain an active inventory of all items to prevent damage and loss
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance for relevant Quality equipment
  • Maintenance of 5S for the Quality department space in the production area, including auditing
  • Regular audit of systems for charting data on the floor including M1 database information, SPC charts & check sheets to confirm accuracy and completeness
  • Support production with continuous improvement activities, including Lean Manufacturing, training and any other needs that arise
  • Support Quality Auditors and Inspectors with their related activities. Provide direction, train new and existing team members, follow up and ensure that delegated tasks are completed and provide general coaching and feedback to your team
  • Foster a team-oriented environment, ensuring that Quality is supporting all pertinent departments
  • Update quality control documentation as required
  • Identify relevant quality training needs and opportunities
  • Evaluate company product drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Actively involved in the first article inspection for every new job launch
  • Any other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary degree/college diploma in a quality or technical discipline desired
  • Minimum 2 years of direct work experience with quality systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to listen and provide excellent customer service
  • Self-motivated with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to understand blueprints and breakdown documents
  • Able to perform quality audits for Toro and select suppliers
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Accountability and courage to act
  • Exposure to Six Sigma techniques, 5S and Lean Manufacturing desired
  • Overtime as required
