Job Description

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Quality Specialist is responsible for research initiatives involving Paramedic Practice and innovations. This position may also be involved with planning, coordinating and executing activities and tasks as they relate to quality assurance and improvement to achieve CPER\'s goals and fulfill the obligation of the Performance Agreement. Specifically, the Quality Specialist will be responsible for research and quality initiatives that will focus the Education portfolio and measure results of education delivered to Paramedics. In addition, the Quality Specialist will analyze data, create queries and reports and interpret data to support the Program\'s needs and requirements. This role will also involve collaboration with both internal and external organizations.

Qualifications

1. Health Research Methodology degree or equivalent research degree.
2. Experience with formal research including grant submission, Research Ethics Board (REB), data collection and publishing processes.
3. Graduate of an Advanced Care Paramedic Program or Primary Care Paramedic Program recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care would be an asset.
4. Knowledge of the Ambulance Act and its associated Regulations and Standards, and other related legislation related to prehospital emergency care would be an asset.
5. Knowledge of current privacy legislation and its application in the Regional Program environment.
6. Demonstrated strong leadership skills, and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders (internal and external).
7. Demonstrated organization, facilitation, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking and project management skills.
8. A minimum of 2 years experience in a role using Quality Management Systems and quality improvement and quality assurance principles.
9. Demonstrated excellence in communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and the ability to initiate and model positive change.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
11. Recognized Academic qualifications in either, Quality Management, Health Management, or Project Management would be an asset.
