Role Summary

This role drives our quality management initiatives. The objective of the role it to exceed stakeholder expectations for operational excellence including customers, ownership and team members.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections and quality tests.
  • Identify gaps in efficient process workflow and suggests steps for supplier quality process improvement.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze data for corrective action and production improvement.
  • Provide clear direction for change and assists in change management.
  • Play an active role in the development of inspection requirements.
  • Investigate quality issues to identify root causes and ensure issues are addressed and resolved.
  • Prepare and present materials/findings both internally and externally.
  • Lead and facilitate LEAN/process, improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions.
  • Manage and oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Quality Management System with the goal of ISO 9001 registration.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor non-conformances, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external quality audits as required.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, ISO 9001 and/or continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel to Canada and US locations.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Spire ERP experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in business or engineering is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Traction EOS is an asset.
