The Quality Manager leads Adventec's quality assurance function to ensure compliance with IATF standards and customer expectations. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement, supporting production, managing customer and supplier quality, and leading quality systems and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality System Management
Ensure company-wide compliance with IATF 16949 quality system.
Manage internal/supplier audit programs (LPA, QMS, Manufacturing, CQI).
Lead corrective/preventive actions; analyze results and identify improvements.
Oversee calibration program in compliance with IATF.
Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
Lead initiatives focused on improving quality systems, products, and services.
Drive a zero-defect culture.
2. Production Support
Lead/participate in cross-functional teams to resolve plant floor quality issues.
Improve root cause analysis and corrective action effectiveness.
Evaluate and enhance in-process quality monitoring methods.
Conduct and/or coordinate quality-related training for production personnel.
Support 5S and lean manufacturing efforts.
3. Program Management Support
Lead APQP activities using a cross-functional approach.
Ensure on-time PPAP submissions and resolve outstanding issues pre-SOP.
Plan and execute Safe Launch exits.
Track pre-launch tool and automation performance.
Develop control plans, gauging strategies, and inspection documentation.
4. Customer Quality
Serve as the single point of contact for customer quality concerns.
Build trusted relationships with customers; advocate for Adventec.
Manage effective problem resolution ensuring permanent corrective actions.
Track customer satisfaction metrics and proactively address concerns.
Develop local containment/sorting support near customer sites.
Ensure timely submission of required customer reports.
5. Supplier Quality Assurance
Improve incoming inspection processes.
Develop supplier qualification and performance rating systems.
Conduct supplier audits and lead problem-solving efforts.
Act as the primary contact for supplier quality issues.
Manage chargebacks where appropriate.
6. Quality Organization Leadership
Recruit, train, and develop a strong quality team.
Build a succession plan to develop future QA leaders.
Coach the team to meet KPIs and drive performance in all QA areas.
Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years of progressive QA leadership in IATF-certified automotive manufacturing.
Standards:
In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949 and Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
Industry Knowledge:
Experience with injection/insertion molding of electrical interconnectors/switches is an asset.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
