Major

Responsibilities:



Oversee and monitor the performance of quality management systems (QMS), identifying trends and areas for improvement. Leads plant and team members for internal and external quality audits. Manage the implementation of corrective actions resulting from programs and/or audits. Manage quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving. Manage the laboratory annual budget. Manage the cost and time constraints of projects. Ensures compliance to quality and food safety standards for the entire organization including importing and exporting. Lead bi-monthly company quality meetings. Manage customer complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective actions, and oversee the complaint closure process. Ensure that customer requirements and expectations have been accurately identified, and that organization meets customer expectations. Manage the HACCP program including procedures, training, and monitoring compliance. Maintain quality procedures to ensure reviews are completed and are in compliance. Ensures the reliability of the HPLC and Perten systems.

Education:



Degree in food science, chemistry, engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or R&D within the food industry. Experience and training in Food Safety and Organic Certification would be an asset Experience with managing the reliability of complex analytical equipment would be an asset

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:



Demonstrate the ability to lead QMS team and manage the implementation of QMS and HACCP. Ability to train employees for QMS and HACCP. Ability to manage an internal audit program for QMS. Strong analytical skills. Excellent ability to gather, consolidate and disseminate technical information. Good verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.

People Management:



Lead QMS team and provide training on HACCP and FSSC 22000 to all employees. Manage lab technologists to support operations, quality systems and R&D initiatives. Provide training and technical guidance to lab technologists and operators as required.
