Job Description


QA/Testing deliverables and supporting documentation will be expected. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Prepare documentation outlining the preferred approach, automation strategy, and plan for QA and testing at both program and project level.
2. Completed implementation plan and associated processes, tools and procedures for managing and controlling quality.
3. Preparation of the Technical and Steering Committee meeting documentation (i.e. presentations, review materials, minutes, support documentation, technical memorandums, etc.)
4. In conjunction with other BTS teams and the external software provider, preparation and delivery of the Software Quality Assurance Test Strategy, Plan, test materials, and tracking controls.
5. Preparation and obtaining sign-off on the Software Quality Assurance Test Closeout Reports.
6. Test Plans, Roadmap, Test Cases, Test Scenarios and Test Scripts.
7. Defect and Issue logs/records.
8. QA status reports, test results, graphs and metrics for all types of testing (weekly and daily if required).
9. Training material including video/audio records, Wiki pages.
10. All work products stemming from the services performed as described in section above.
Knowledge & Experience
The preferred candidate will possess the following:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent.
10+ years of practicing quality management or quality assurance at a technical project implementation level
10+ years of recent and hands-on experience in application testing.
Ability to work with a range of stakeholders across multiple organizations to gather complex
information and make sound recommendations for QA and quality management.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Project Management principals, methodologies, and quality management practices/trends.
Analytical and broad-based technical knowledge/skills; with ability to think through details and tactics without losing sight of overall strategic goals.
Exceptional tactical and critical strategic thinking.
Good in identifying issues and conducting root cause analysis.
Proficient in developing test cases/scripts.
In-depth understanding of QA process and testing using the Agile/DevOps methodology.
Experience with large enterprise level applications, such as ERP, Finance, HR, CSM, Asset Management system is preferred.
Experience in a Unionized environment exposure to Union organizations such as CUPE, COPE and CAW/Unifor is considered an asset.
Strong business acumen with the ability to effectively monitor and execute project plans with stringent timelines.
Process oriented.
Relationship building at all levels (i.e. end-users to C-level).
Senior-level ability to translate process and technical problems using business terms.
Senior-level documentation and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Strong team leadership skills that motivate and encourage collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal communication, strong report writing skills, including business and technical report writing.EEO Employer
