The function of the Quality Inspection Technician is to verify that the machining, deburring & overall quality of custom products meet all applicable quality standards, in preparation for assembly and packaging.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform quality inspection procedures on machined parts, including dimensional measurements, pass/fail inspections, cleanliness inspection, and fit & finish
Dimensional measurements to be taken with use of micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM arm and other specialized measuring instruments
Report deviations from specifications & tolerances to Supervisor or NCR Alert Team
Complete and maintain inspection reports as stipulated on the Production Order
Respect and adhere to all aspects of company Health and Safety by-laws
Respect confidentiality and intellectual property as per company by-laws
Perform and prioritize multiple tasks and respond appropriately to constant changes in priorities
Responsible for following all established Quality & ISO standards and procedures
ACADEMIC/EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
College or university education in a technical discipline
Education in Quality Management an asset
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Must have prior experience in metal manufacturing industry, including use of basic measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc)
Must possess good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
Good manual dexterity required in working with hand tools
Good written and spoken communication skills
Ability to read drawings and diagrams
Ability to lift medium to heavy loads
Must meet requirements of Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
Experience with use of CMM equipment
Experience working in an ISO environment an asset
Experience in hydraulics and/or design engineering an asset
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics an asset
Must meet requirements of Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
