Responsibilities

This is an entry job level. Under direct supervision assists with conducting materials lab testing, parts inspection and monitoring of all processes involved in the production of a product. Ensure the quality standards are met by every component manufactured and assembled by a company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)

  • Performs material testing and examination operations using metallurgical testing equipment for tensile testing, hardness testing (macro- and micro-hardness), and metallography.
  • Prepares metallurgical specimens for testing and conducts testing of specimens.
  • Performs metallurgical evaluations of customer property which have failed in service.
  • Prepares weld sample for subsequent metallurgical analysis.
  • Conducts elastomer, grit and adhesives testing to confirm all specifications are met.
  • Analyzes products x-ray results.
  • Tests and evaluates new suppliers\xe2\x80\x99 materials as requested by QA QC Supervisor or Eng.
  • Performs, analyzes and documents first article, incoming, in-process, and final inspections of parts, to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met.
  • Documents product tests and inspection results. Prepares technical material test reports.
  • Organizes and files test results for future reference.
  • Maintains testing and inspection databases and records.
  • Timely complete all assigned technical and safety trainings.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or acts to QA QC Supervisor.
  • Ensures work assignments are performed in accordance with approved plans, schedules and programs.
  • Apply Weatherford, and where appropriate Client Company Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Management Systems.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by QA QC Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 0-2+ years Quality Control experience
  • Lab experience is a plus.
  • Math skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area and volume.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to use measurement devices such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, gauges and scales.
  • Ability to read and understand basic and advanced blueprints and charts.
  • Ability to effectively work with employees, supervisors, vendors and customers.
  • The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
  • High School or secondary technical education
