We are currently looking for a highly skilled

Quality Lead Hand

to support daily QC/QA operations within our electronics manufacturing environment. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership position and is committed to high standards of product quality, accuracy, and compliance.

Position Summary



Reporting to the Quality and Lean Manufacturing Manager, the

Quality Lead Hand

supports daily operations of the Quality department by providing hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and inspection expertise to QC/QA Inspectors and production teams. This is a

working lead

role that combines inspection duties, coordination, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will ensure in-process assemblies, and finished electronic products meet defined quality standards, customer requirements, and industry specifications (IPC-A-610, ISO 9001).

Daily Key Responsibilities



Lead and assign daily tasks for QA Inspectors across all inspection areas. Act as the first point of contact for shop-floor quality questions. Monitor inspection queues and adjust priorities to support production schedules. Support enforcement of QMS procedures, standards, and work instructions.

Inspection & Verification



Perform and oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections. Inspect PCB assemblies, electronic components, harnesses, and finished goods. Verify conformity to IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, drawings, and customer specs. Review inspection/test records for accuracy and traceability. Assist with root cause analysis, containment, and defect investigation.

Documentation & Reporting



Record inspection results in Intuitive ERP and digital quality systems. Create/update check sheets, quality alerts, and work standards. Assist with defect trend reporting, FPY tracking, and supplier quality data. Support internal audits and closure of audit findings.

Training & Competency



Train new QA Inspectors and production staff on inspection methods and IPC standards. Provide coaching on workmanship, drawing interpretation, and tool use. Support IPC certification/recertification activities.

Continuous Improvement



Participate in root cause, CAPA, and improvement initiatives. Recommend enhancements to inspection methods and quality controls. Collaborate with Engineering, Process, and Production teams to resolve issues.

Education & Experience



Diploma/certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology, QA, or related field (preferred). Experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB assembly required. Prior lead, senior inspector, or mentorship experience. Experience working within ISO 9001:2015 or similar QMS.

Technical Skills



IPC-A-610 certification required

; IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 are assets. Strong ability to read drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions. Skilled with microscopes, multimeters, calipers, AOI systems, etc. ERP experience; Intuitive ERP is an asset. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Soft Skills



Strong communicator with proven leadership and coaching ability. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Excellent time management and cross-department collaboration. Ability to stand for long periods and perform microscope work.

Working Conditions



Manufacturing environment with exposure to standard production chemicals/fumes. Lifting up to 25 lbs required. Repetitive hand motions and precision work; regular stretching recommended.
