Operates and performs adjustments to laboratory equipment and instruments.
Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Quality Control or Supervisor, Test Laboratory is responsible for the testing of cards, readers, capillary tubes Also responsible for routine performance checks including Adaptive Process Control, incoming material verification, validation and Lifetime event testing Assistance with testing requirements for Process Engineering, Test Engineering and Research and Development experiments Responsibilities Test for various purposes (using written instructions) of card lots/readers/capillary tubes coming from the assembly departments Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of Quality Control Laboratory testing equipment and records these activities in maintenance logs with assistance and guidance from a higher-level technician Ability to track inventory of Quality Control Laboratory supplies and replace what is in house and communicate to responsible personnel reorder points Participate in testing process and equipment improvement efforts, including experimental testing. Maintain appropriate records for testing

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

Post-secondary education in a field of science or related field, and/or combination of education and technical experience Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and capable in troubleshooting basic technological issues Some working knowledge of GMP and good lab practices Routine, detailed nature of testing Flexibility required for varied nature of testing Regular and reoccurring exposure to blood from screened donors Flexibility with adjusting work hours to follow up with overnight shifts as scheduled including on-call support and navigating between site locations Attention to detail Proven ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment while satisfying personal responsibilities Ability to function in fast-paced environment Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and multi-task Ability to assess and troubleshoot computers, software applications and equipment Ready to speak up about concerns Satisfaction derived from solid completion of tasks Clear understanding of health and safety in a lab environment Physical

o Extended periods of detailed visual inspection


o Involves regular and occurring exposure to blood from screened donors


o Work involves inventorying and processing cards, which requires walking, bending, stretching and occasionally lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.



Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Test Laboratory experience such as blood testing, use of pipettes, centrifuges, and table[1]top analyzers is an asset Knowledge of basic statistics Trained phlebotomist

The base pay range for this position is:


Min $44,000 - Max $82,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
