Duties:
Perform
incoming, in-process, and final inspections
of machined parts, sheet metal components, and assemblies
Conduct and support
First Article Inspections (FAI)
Review drawings, specifications, customer standards, and inspection plans
Verify dimensions using
calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM reports
Support
internal, customer, and third-party audits
(AS9100, customer audits)
Conduct and support
supplier audits and supplier quality activities
as required
Perform
sampling inspections
per customer and internal quality requirements
Identify, document, and assist with resolution of
non-conformances
Ensure proper completion and control of
inspection records, FAIRs, and quality documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions
Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready inspection area
Skills:
Minimum
2-5 years
experience in
aerospace or precision manufacturing quality
Strong understanding of
AS9100 and ISO 9001
requirements
Experience with
FAI
documentation
Ability to read and interpret
engineering drawings and GD&T
Familiarity with aerospace materials and processes (machining, sheet metal, assemblies)
Experience supporting
supplier and customer audits
is an asset
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Assets
Experience working with
Bombardier or Tier-1 aerospace customers
CMM inspection or report interpretation experience
Internal auditor training (AS9100 / ISO 9001)
Knowledge of sampling plans (AQL or customer-specific)
Note: Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
