Industra is a multi-disciplined, self-perform General Contractor actively seeking individuals who want to grow within our organization and directly contribute to its success. We specialize in heavy civil, structural, and municipal infrastructure projects across Canada.
We are in search of a Quality Control Manager to join the Industra team based in Surrey, BC.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to VP, Operations.
Develop detailed written plans and procedures for project-specific activities to supplement task planning efforts.
Create, implement, and ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), maintaining all relevant supporting documentation.
Oversee and manage quality assurance activities, providing guidance, training, and support to subcontractors.
Collaborate with site teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
Monitor the construction process to ensure adherence to established quality standards throughout all activities.
Interpret customer standards, product specifications, drawings, and relevant codes/standards, translating these into comprehensive QA documents (e.g., ITPs, procedures) to ensure compliance with product/service requirements.
Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to plan and coordinate QA activities based on design specifications and applicable codes/standards.
Serve as a key liaison between internal teams, suppliers, customer representatives, and regulatory authorities, addressing quality and compliance matters.
Assist with conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions in response to customer complaints, internal concerns, and supplier issues.
Manage the supplier selection process, document approvals, and assist in reporting on supplier performance.
Maintain communication with the Customer's Quality Assurance Representatives and TSBC to ensure ongoing compliance.
Promote and enforce the company's Quality Assurance Program, demonstrating leadership in fostering a positive and effective work environment.
Audit subcontractors' quality management systems to ensure compliance with their specific scopes of work.
May be required to travel to projects based across Canada.
Qualifications:
A degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
CWB Weld Inspector certification, endorsed for ASME B31.3, B31.1, B31.9, and CSA W47.1/W59 or equivalent.
Experience working with Technical Safety BC (TSBC) is a plus.
At least 3 years of experience in a construction environment, building projects, and concrete work.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 2200, ASME Codes, CSA Codes, and building codes, with experience applying these standards to construction.
General expertise in areas such as earthworks, geotechnical work, formwork, concrete, super-structural steel, architectural design, or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, fabrication codes, and client specifications as they relate to field site operations.
Proficiency with software tools such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
