We are seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Control team at our
Hagersville
facility. This role supports daily quality control activities, including chemical and microbiological testing, to help ensure food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance in a regulated dairy manufacturing environment.
This position is ideal for individuals with a strong attention to detail and a technical background who are interested in working in a laboratory setting and contributing directly to food safety and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare samples, media, and buffers used for daily laboratory analysis
Perform chemical and microbiological testing of dairy products
Generate accurate and reliable test results in accordance with established procedures
Conduct product sampling and environmental / equipment swabbing
Complete reports and computer data entry to maintain accurate quality records
Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory
Work closely with Production teams on sanitation, hygiene, GMPs, and related training
Monitor and support Quality, Food Safety, and SQF systems
Complete assigned tasks in a timely and organized manner
Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Supervisor
Key Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the food industry preferred
Bachelor of Science degree or post-secondary diploma in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, or Quality Assurance
Knowledge of microbiological procedures and aseptic techniques
Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, allergens, and food security
Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to support supplier-related documentation requests (packaging and ingredients), as
needed, while maintaining priority on laboratory responsibilities.
Flexibility to adjust work hours based on production needs, including occasional weekend work
Own transportation and ability to commute to the Hagersville facility
