Job Description

Fero International is a modular construction company based in Stoney Creek, Ontario. In our 300,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility that was purpose-built for modular, we design and manufacture volumetric modular buildings for diverse markets across Canada, including healthcare, education, housing, commercial and industrial. Position Overview:



The Quality Coordinator is responsible for wide range of inspections, providing technical support, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and procedures ensuring efficiency and production objectives are achieved. This role is actively involved in identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and ensures internal quality system standards - structural, mechanical, electrical - are upheld via auditing, procedure writing corrective actions and reporting.

Key Accountabilities:



Understand contract specifications and work with the production and operations teams to provide guidance, identify areas of risk ensuring quality standards align with the project scope and the Quality Assurance Plan Track, analyze and regularly report on observations, including identifying, developing and presenting opportunities for continuous improvement in terms of quality management execution. Collaborate with the production team to develop and implement the Quality Assurance Plan Conduct and document internal audits and inspections of structural, mechanical, and electrical components to ensure compliance with quality standards and review and disposition non-conformance reports. Provide a positive and supportive approach when dealing with unexpected issues. Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct. Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures. Employees may perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Qualifications:



High School Diploma or Canadian General Equivalency Diploma, (GED). 2+ years of experience with quality control accountability, in either construction or manufacturing related to commercial or healthcare buildings. Knowledge of the construction industry; understands specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures. Excellent understanding and interpretation of building codes: mechanical, electrical, and related federal and provincial regulations. Ability to influence project planning and sequencing. Ability to monitor project progress to ensure timely inspections. Ability to identify quality risks associated with the project(s). Experience leading internal quality assessments and assisting in developing procedures and quality assurance plans. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated, proactive individual who can excel independently and manage own projects and deadlines. Strong technical aptitude, with knowledge of MS Office applications (including SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required. CWB Welding Inspector Level 2/Level certificate (Visual Inspection, VT) with W47.1, W59 endorsements is considered an asset. Focus experienced in electrical and plumbing is considered an asset

Physical Requirements:



Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs. Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors. Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use. Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
