Quality Control Coordinator
for its
Dorval (Quebec) location

Position Summary
The Quality Control Coordinator will be responsible for troubleshooting machine setup issues, supporting health and safety initiatives, planning production schedules, and overseeing manufacturing and warehouse activities. The role includes developing policies and procedures to improve productivity, ensure quality, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality

Maintain document and record control systems.
Create and manage product specifications and engineering change controls.
Control and calibrate inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
Create and manage Internal & External Non-Conformance Reports and RMAs.
Support customer claims and vendor debits.
Work with certification bodies (UL/ULC, CSA, CSSBI, etc.).
Monitor coil inventory and rejected coils.
Implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
Conduct and document daily workplace walks.
Monitor and audit incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Participate in accident investigations, hazard identification, and operator start-up inspections.
Track and analyze injury data to identify safety improvement opportunities.
Enforce corporate safety and security policies.
Maintain and update intranet systems, including records and forms.
Material Planning
---------------------
Schedule inbound raw materials and maintain adequate stock levels.
Support production work order scheduling.
Utilize MRP system for raw material release and scheduling.
Monitor and report inventory levels; reconcile physical inventories and perform cycle counts.
Conduct regular spot-checks of inventory, supplies, and equipment.
Create and maintain production and warehouse documentation.
Coordinate raw materials, equipment, and supplies.
Communicate delays or variances in freight and coordinate action plans.
Manage STOs from other divisions.
Support finance in month- and year-end activities.
Training & Continuous Improvement

Train production and plant employees on quality processes.
Assist in training line workers in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide leadership for plant initiatives and new product development.
Develop and implement communication programs to foster team spirit.
Conduct safety talks in crew meetings.

Qualifications

Proven leadership in plant initiatives and product development.
Strong understanding of quality processes and procedures.
Proficient in SAP MRP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word).
Ability to critically analyze data and perform basic technical troubleshooting.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
The position requires a good knowledge of French due to the need to communicate regularly with employees working in Dorval. The person will also interact in English with the head office on a weekly basis that may sometimes involve technical topics relevant to our industry. The incumbent must also be able to converse in both French and English with suppliers, customers and visitors to the plant.
