Job Description


What you\'ll do:

  • Reporting to the Manager, Compliance AgriStability, this position is responsible for review and approval of sampled files and benefits that exceed a designated threshold, ensuring files are processed in accordance with the AgriStability guidelines and SCIC administrative procedures.
  • Interpret, understand and evaluate complex files such as; multi-operational corporations with varying fiscal year ends, shell corporations, limited partnerships, large livestock operations i.e. hog, feedlot, Section 85 rollovers, communes, trusts, co-operatives, Ministerial and multi-jurisdictional operations.
  • Review AgriStability files completed by the verification staff/special assignments to ensure accuracy, reasonability and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Provide financial review of AgriStability applications and ensure accuracy and documentation is within program tolerances and guidelines.
  • Authorize AgriStability payments based on evaluation of submitted information measured against program policies and guidelines.
  • Provide resource expertise to verification floor.Mentor employees and assist in identifying staff training requirements.
  • Proactively identify issues, opportunities for improvement to processes, policies and procedures and make recommendations to management.
  • Be a subject matter expert for the Internal Review Committee and provide recommendations to Senior Management on unique situations that are not clearly covered by policy, guidelines or verification procedures.
Qualifications:
  • The knowledge and skills required for this position are acquired through completion of a diploma in the field of Agriculture and/or Business with a minimum of three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience verifying AgriStability files.
  • Knowledge of farm tax, and accounting practices which includes the ability to read and analyze complex corporate financial statements as they pertain to the AgriStability program.
  • Knowledge of farming production operations to accurately interpret complex data related to agricultural practices.
  • Knowledge of math in order to carry out calculations applicable to producer benefits under the AgriStability program including conversions, variances, revenues, tolerance levels and financial calculations.
  • Strong computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office and program specific applications including: Ceres, AgConnect, AgAdmin, Workflow Tracking, iSeries, and CRM.
  • A criminal record check is required.
  • Should the successful candidate participate in the Crop Insurance or AgriStability Programs, their account must be in good standing.

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $29.91-$36.67 per hour
