Reports To: Team Lead

As a Quality Assurance Tester, you will work with software developers, business analyst and test lead to understand and clarify requirements, design test scenarios, execute test cases, document test findings, and follow issues until they are resolved.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze requirements

Provide estimates of the testing effort

Identify initial test scenarios

Review test scenarios with project stakeholders

Revise test scenarios based on input from project stakeholders

Assess product risk and prioritize the test cases accordingly

Define smoke tests for each build

Plan and define regression suite of tests

Identify candidates for test automation

Add detailed steps and test data requirements to defined test cases

Identify and set up any necessary test data

Execute smoke tests for each build

Assess the stability of builds based on smoke test results

Execute system test cases and record results

Communicate test results to the Test Lead

Identify and record descriptive defects, providing additional detail to facilitate problem resolution as needed

Validate defect fixes as they are provided

Required Qualifications

University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program preferred.

Two + years of experience testing software applications on web-based, desktop, and mobile devices.

Knowledge of software development life-cycle methodologies

General understanding on ALM test management tool, JIRA

Working knowledge of quality assurance methods such as: unit, integration, regression testing

Execution and Organization Skills: Ability to organize work and information in a well thought out manner to deliver on specific tasks and reporting deadlines. Exhibits high levels of energy and perseverance in the pursuit of established goals.

Knowledge: Proactively uses knowledge to improve process and procedures and acts to make amendments to the Quality assurance process.

Team Work: Understanding of how the job contributes to the overall work unit and takes the initiative to help with problem situations. Ability to ask and receive feedback and enjoys working with people both as part of a team and one-on-one
