Job Overview:



As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team and ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a key role in upholding the quality standards of our custom-engineered systems by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust QA processes throughout the entire project lifecycle -- from design and fabrication to installation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical or structural manufacturing, a sharp eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and inspection procedures across all stages of production and installation. Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams to ensure quality standards are clearly understood and consistently applied. Perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for quality-related issues. Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Oversee third-party testing and certification when required. Support supplier quality management, including audits and incoming inspection processes. Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and codes (e.g., ASTM, ISO, AAMA, etc.). Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Provide training and guidance to production staff on QA best practices.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 3+ years of experience in a QA role in a manufacturing or construction environment, ideally with architectural or structural systems. Strong understanding of quality control standards, testing methods, and inspection tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
Strong working knowledge of aluminum welding standards and defect identification, using shop drawings with architectural symbols and terminology for reference. Familiarity with the CWB CSA aluminum standards W47.2 and W59.2.

Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and QA software systems.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to travel occasionally to job sites or supplier facilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications



Experience with custom or one-off engineered products. Familiarity with structural steel, aluminum, glass, and motorized systems. Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Six Sigma, or equivalent a plus but not required.
