We are looking for a full-time QA Technician to add to our growing cannabis production facility located in St.Thomas, ON. Reporting to the site QA VP you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day quality operations including auditing, document control, record keeping, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The individual fit for this role has a strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Production Practices (GPP), and Good
Documentation Practices (GDP) for site facility required to meet Cannabis regulations and HC Standards
Ensure that all production staff and processing activities are following the approved SOPs, Good
Production Practices (GPP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to produce consistent quality cannabis products
Assist in drafting and implementing new SOPs to ensure continuous compliance and communicate with managers for process improvements and alignments of quality concept when applicable
Establish and maintain record keeping systems and ensure staff adhere to proper documentation practices
Perform internal audits and vendor evaluation audits on a regular basis to determine quality qualifications. Actively participate in external audits such as regulatory inspections.
Help keep track of production and shipping documents to ensure that inventory on hand is up to date and records are accurate
Review batch reports for designated departments to ensure Cannabis is produced as per GPP/GMP and submission to QAP
Assist QA Supervisor in investigating complaints, completion of deviation and CAPA reports
Coordinate with shipping and receiving to help keep track of cannabis, raw materials, and production supplies
Perform daily inspections of production areas including sanitation checks, scales calibration, packaging monitoring, product labels control etc.
Verify sanitation documentation and activity logbooks (room and equipment) prior to line clearance and start up approval
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of professional related experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within a cannabis, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Act of cannabis and cannabis regulations, ACMPR, ISO, HACCP, GMP or other quality systems is preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT)
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to an evolving environment
Flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties
College Diploma in science or a related discipline is considered an asset
Health Canada security clearance or RPIC status is considered an asset
