Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada\'s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and foodservice markets.

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician (18 Month Term) at our Lethbridge, AB location.

Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules

Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:

Always using the required personal protective equipment

Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely

Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards

Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives

Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure

Provide quality assurance testing, analysis and technical support Analysis of blends and finished product to ensure specifications are met

Testing & reporting on incoming raw materials, packaging & finished goods

Interface with production personnel and management to ensure operating conditions are maintained and laboratory specifications are effectively implemented

Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of the food safety and quality management system

Must work within established OH&S regulations and comply with all Company policies & procedures

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry

Comprehension of & familiarity with lab instrumentation

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly describe the food safety and quality requirements for producing food products to all staff.

Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications specifically Word, Excel

Excellent interpersonal skills and team work ability

Willing to work shifts and overtime
