Quality Assurance Technician



Job Summary:



The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for conducting hands-on inspections and measurements of modular heating and cooling plants for large buildings. This role emphasizes detailed quality checks on equipment and materials arriving at the plant and on completed units before shipment. The technician will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, and industry regulations. A significant focus will be placed on conducting inspections, measurements, and assisting in the development of more efficient and effective manufacturing processes.



Job Duties & Responsibilities

Perform detailed inspections of equipment and materials as they arrive at the shop, ensuring they meet submitted specifications. Conduct pre-shipment inspections on completed units to verify they align with Epsilon and client specifications Use precise measurement tools to verify the dimensions, tolerances, and quality of manufactured components. Ensure the calibration of in-house measuring and testing equipment is completed on schedule, to maintain accuracy. Assist in conducting quality tests alongside mechanical and electrical technicians; document findings and prepare reports of inspections and tests for internal review and client submission. Work closely with mechanical and electrical technologists to verify and finalize "as built" drawings. Assist the Director of Operation and the Plant Managers with day-to-day shop activities and troubleshooting Collaborate with engineers and production teams to help develop and conduct tests aimed at improving the manufacturing process Provide feedback based on test results and inspection data to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality Actively participate in process improvement initiatives by assisting in trials, experiments, and quality testing of new or modified manufacturing procedures; help evaluate the effectiveness of these tests in improving efficiency, product consistency, and production timelines Develop job specific shipping lists and documents for onsite contractors Participate in drafting job-specific instruction, operation, and maintenance manuals (IOMs). Ensure all relevant quality policies and procedures are followed and updated as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:



Two-year diploma or equivalent job experience (1 year) in field related to quality assurance Communication and interpersonal skills, and able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company Able to multitask and work efficiently in a detail oriented demanding environment Able to take initiative, work independently, problem solve, and organize Able to excel in a cross-functional team environment and take direction from others Able to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines effectively Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and able to learn additional software quickly Able to attend work regularlys Able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position.

Internal shop staff, Engineering, suppliers, contractors to exchange information, answer questions and problem solve.

Effort (Physical & Sensory):



Regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, using fine motor skills Occasional light lifting or moving components or materials Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and able to adjust focus 50-80% of day involves sensory demands with choice of action.

Working Conditions:



Regular exposure to minor disagreeable conditions/occasional exposure to major environmental conditions in the plant environment.
