The Quality Assurance Department of Highland Fisheries is currently looking to hire a

QA Technician.

The position reports to the Quality Manager and QA Supervisors.

Duties & Accountabilities (Responsibilities):

As a Quality Control Technician, you'll play a vital role in our Clam Processing facility, with opportunities to work across other QA Departments within the Company as needed. Your responsibilities include: Following policies, procedures, and work instructions developed under the company's Quality Management Program. Conducting pre-operational inspections, label and packaging verification, and monitoring of Critical Control Points (CCPs). Performing plant sanitation monitoring using microbiological and allergen swabs, and ensuring personal hygiene standards are met. Testing chlorine residual of salt and fresh water, calibration checks of scales and thermometers, and inspection of incoming and final products. Collecting product samples for the microbiological monitoring program and maintaining QC-related documents. Participating in internal audits, training programs, and meetings as required.

Working Conditions:

Location: Highland Fisheries, Glace Bay. Environment: High Care chilled (<5C) production environment; Noisy; Wet. Schedule: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm, with flexibility for overtime or altered shifts as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills considered an asset. This position offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety at Highland Fisheries.
