Job Description

Signature Supplements Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician, based out of our Dartmouth location. This role ensures the highest standards of quality across all aspects of our business, including raw materials, products and operations. The ideal candidate has a science education background with laboratory process management experience and possesses a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities



Quality of Materials

Testing of all raw materials using the organoleptic process Review worksheets to ensure accuracy of process and verification Familiar with working in a laboratory or compounding environment to evaluate, create, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Support the Supplier Management Program by reviewing and compiling relevant data Reporting and tracking of supplier non-conformance issues Facilitate the preparation of samples for third-party testing Manage all raw material documents including Certificate of Analysis, Allergen Statements, and Safety Data Sheets Prepare Certificate of Analysis for bulk orders Administrative tasks including scanning and filing of paperwork, retained samples, and other duties as required

Quality of Product

Maintain correct storage of materials and monitor product labeling integrity Develop, implement, and maintain quality release checkpoints in collaboration with other departments to ensure product integrity Customer communication to address product questions and complaints Lead investigations and reporting related to complaints or internal incidents and identify corrective action solutions

Quality of Operation

Assist in the implementation and management of SOPs and controlled documents to maintain operational efficiency Support the Document Control Management System (DCMS) to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with standards Annual competency training of all departments based on SOPs Provide support for training programs and launching new processes across the organization Maintain tracking systems and reporting on quality deviations and non-conformance incidents to identify areas for improvement Conduct department audits and facility inspections to ensure procedures and standards Environmental management activities including daily monitoring and annual swab testing Collaborate on internal initiatives for process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and quality control

Requirements and Attributes:



Bachelor's Degree in Science with laboratory or production process experience Strong written and oral communication skills Experience with handling confidential information Experience using Microsoft Office Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and operational demands Solution oriented with strong problem-solving skills Effective time management skills Previous experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control considered an asset Knowledge of ALCOA principles considered an asset LEAN Manufacturing knowledge considered an asset Experience with Food Safety considered an asset This role may not be suitable for individuals with sensitivities, allergies, or dietary restrictions as it involves working with a large variety of powdered raw materials from plant and animal sources.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
