Job Summary


This supervisory position reporting to the VP Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality supervises the Quality Assurance department and all related activities. The following areas of focus are to be included but not limited to quality systems, product quality, inspection and test methods, and cost reduction opportunities using lean methodologies and tools.

Duties



Quality Systems:



o Implement and maintain quality system procedures, inspection plans, work instructions, support documents, records and retained samples

o Manage the Quality System audit activities (internal and external) and personnel for the ISO9001:2015, FSSC22000, and IMS standards

o Develop corrective action plans and follow-up activities for system audit nonconformances to ensure timely and effective closure

o Liaison to customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies on all quality related matters

o Management Representative for the ISO9001:2015, FSSC22000, and IMS Quality Systems

o Participate as part of the HACCP and Food Safety Team

o Respond to customer regulatory requests, prepare and complete Regulatory statements and questionnaires, connect with suppliers when new information is required with regard to regulatory status'.

o Establish and maintain key quality performance indicators and targets including Cost of Quality, Internal Nonconformances and Customer Complaints and provide to the SAC Committee on a monthly basis

o Identify improvement activities and/or new equipment for the key performance indicators.

o Prepare and track annual quality operating and capital budgets

o Support the Engineering team, as required, to improve food safety, product quality, environmental and productivity performance

o Assist Sales in technical troubleshooting internally and at customer facilities, as required

o Manage the customer complaint and RMA process. Initiate, assign, and follow-up of corrective actions assigned for completion

o Provide guidance, support and training to all personnel on new and modified system procedures

o Complete CFIA and FDA submissions, as required.

Quality Assurance Activities:



o Manage the Quality Assurance department and Quality Control Inspector activities

o Identify improvements to reduce and/or eliminate non-value-added QC and Operator Inspector activities, manufacturing inspection systems, testing and work methods

o Train employees on new test methods and changes to inspection plans and testing requirements

o Monitor Operator Inspector activities, ensuring effectiveness and compliance to requirements

o Completion of annual reviews of QC personnel

o Assist in preparing ECO's and providing of statistical analysis on comparative tests and DOE's

Manufacturing



o Assist in new product and product enhancement projects in coordination with the Tool Room Lead Hand and the VP of Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality as it relates to new testing apparatus and procedures.

o Assist in the selection of new or refurbished process equipment as required.

o To statistically qualify and validate new tooling, processing equipment and materials and release them for production.

o Conduct equipment R and R, MTTF, capability studies continually striving for process improvements

General Responsibilities:



o Participates as a member of the SAC Committee

o Perform other duties which may be assigned by supervision/management

o Maintain workplace in a neat, orderly manner

o Follow all plant rules and regulations

o Work in a safe manner using all prescribed safety equipment and devices and eliminate and/or report all safety hazards that may occur

o Ensure that all requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Company's Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed

Requirements



oThe Starting Requirements to Qualify for this Position are (Experience/Education/Training)

o Post-secondary graduate of a Quality Assurance or a Mechanical Engineering Technology program or equivalent

o 5 years' experience in injection molding manufacturing environment at a supervisory level

o Experience with ISO9001 and FSSC22000 Quality Systems

o Strong organizational skills, ability and experience

o Strong analytical skills to assess data and identify trends

o Excellent project management abilities

o Strong computer skills

o Strong oral and written communication skills

o Strong working knowledge of process improvement techniques

o Working knowledge of Statistical methods, DOE, Six Sigma and the Toyota Production System

The Candidate Shall Acquire (Experience/Education):

o Knowledge of all Pano business, products and manufacturing operations

o Good working knowledge of closures (packaging) industry

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
