Quality Assurance Person This position is based in Olds, AB. Emprise Canada Inc. is engaged in making innovative cannabis-infused consumer products to serve the health & wellness, edibles, and beverage market segments. The company\'s wholly owned subsidiary, iNaturally Organic Inc., has received processing and sales licenses from Health Canada under Cannabis Act, for its facility in the Town of Olds. The company\'s focus is on manufacturing products; it is not involved in cultivation and extraction business. The company is looking for a Quality Assurance Person (QAP), as defined under Cannabis Act, for its Olds facility. The QAP is responsible for the implementation of the quality control and quality management system which covers all aspects of product quality - quality of raw ingredients & cannabis, manufacturing and packaging processes, shipping, and all documentation. The QAP ensures and monitors adherence to all facility SOPs relating to current Health Canada regulations, GPPs, and other applicable regulations. The QAP is also responsible for investigating every complaint received with respect to the quality of the cannabis and taking necessary corrective and preventive measures. The QAP reports to the Chief Scientific Officer. Responsibilities:
The person must be able to work independently and unsupervised in a small-team environment.
Monitor adherence to the Quality Management System in all aspects of the company\'s operations. Monitor process control points within the Preventive Control Plan, and take measures to eliminate errors and deviations.
Ensures and monitors adherence to all facility SOPs relating to current GPP and other applicable regulations; including but not limited to, Change Controls, Deviations, Recalls, Returns and Customer Complaints.
Ensures and enforces Good Documentation Practices on all applicable documents relating to GPP, including formulations, manufacturing batch records, product analysis, label control, product release, and inventory management.
Provide all documentation for Health Canada audits. Assist with other internal and external GPP / QA audits. This includes addressing issues, preparing response reports and regulatory submissions.
Ensure the integrity of products, including oversight of annual and semi-annual inventories. Investigate variances and reconciliations.
Oversee sampling of raw materials and finished goods for testing and retention purposes, when applicable. Responsible for the release or rejection of finished products.
Assist with the authorization, processing and managing all returned product.
Assist with operational activities as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, or equivalent is a must.
Must be able to successfully obtain a clear criminal record check and full security check under Cannabis Act regulations. Preference will be given to applicants with Health Canada security clearance already granted with QAP designation.
Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of Cannabis Act, GPP, and Health Canada regulations.
Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Overall strong, diverse computer skills.
Excellent analytical skills and above-average attention to detail.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Capable of multitasking with minimal supervision.
Fluent in English communication skills both written and verbal
Work Remotely and Travel
The work is exclusively from the production site in Olds.
Compensation:
Dependent upon relevant qualification, experience and security clearance status.
Cash compensation will range from $50,000 to $60,000.
The person would qualify for equity compensation in the form of stock options valued at $5,000 to $15,000, after completing one-full year of service.
