Successful and growing food manufacturer located in Milton. ON. Experience with margarine and oil base food products is mandatory. \xc2\xb7 Maintain corporate policies and adhere to all legislation requirements related to Food Safety & Quality. Develops, implements & maintains GMPs, SQF systems and enforces Food Safety and QA standards. \xc2\xb7 Leads audits conducted by governmental agencies for Food Safety and Quality, or customer 3rd party agencies. Analyze quality performance indexes to support vendor selection & evaluation. \xc2\xb7 Address customer complaints and internal problems related to Food Safety and Quality by performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions. \xc2\xb7 Provide technical support to senior management, make strategic decisions for equipment investments, streamlining processes, raw materials and packaging procurement. \xc2\xb7 Ensure efficient and cost-effective production by day-to day monitoring of scrap, process and machinery performance. Validate conformance operations, such as exportation and labelling, with legislation requirements. Inspect quality incoming, in-process materials & final products. \xc2\xb7 Provide troubleshooting regarding material compatibility with machinery and/or material failures, in conjunction with vendors. \xc2\xb7 Supervise the production process and verify compliance with GMPs, Food Safety and Quality System Requirements, legislation, manufacturing best practices and customer specifications. \xc2\xb7 Perform Health and Safety Officer\xe2\x80\x99s duties, such as reporting industrial accidents, assessing hazards, conducting safety audits, educating employees and following the relevant legislation. \xc2\xb7 Provide training to all levels of plant personnel and corporate and executive personnel in all matters relating to Food Safety and Quality Systems, as well as Health& safety. \xc2\xb7 Provide technical support for new products development. Develops, implements, and sustains new methods and procedures to drive improvements in quality and food safety. \xc2\xb7 Member of the internal audit team and Safety team, recall team, and HACCP team. \xc2\xb7 SQF Practitioner. Maintains and overviews Food Safety & Quality System as required (GMPs, product technical specs, quality metrics, personnel training, 3rd party audits). \xc2\xb7 Actively involved in developing new packaging materials, such as bottles, jars, cartons. \xc2\xb7 Ensure all the labels (existing and new) meet label requirements by CFIA. \xc2\xb7 Initiate and involve in new products developments, such as high-performance oil blends, Liquid shortenings, shortenings & margarines. Responsible for process control of the margarine plant. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for the waste water disposed will meet city quality standards /specifications. \xc2\xb7 Undertakes the responsibilities of Food Defense Coordinator. a) Conduct evaluations of the broad mitigation strategies established at the facility b) Develop action items to address gaps identified in the broad mitigation strategy assessment c) Conduct vulnerability assessments for each food (or food group) process and identify the critical steps of each process. Implement mitigation strategies to minimize the vulnerabilities identified at the critical process steps d) Document the assessments, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies and any food defense policies or procedures. Prepare a response plan and identify emergency contacts e) Determine practical guidelines for managing the plan, such as testing of the plan procedures, and reassessment of the plan. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety J Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year Benefits:
