Juewei Food (Canada?Ltd. is a CFIA-certified food manufacturing company. We are seeking an experienced
Quality Assurance (QA) Manager
to lead our food safety and compliance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of food safety and quality systems within the CFIA-licensed facility.
Ensure strict compliance with CFIA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and SQF requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP Plans, and all regulatory documentation.
Coordinate and respond to CFIA inspections, third-party audits, customer audits, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Lead internal audits, GMP inspections, and annual SQF system reviews.
Conduct and oversee staff food safety training, GMP training, and competency evaluations.
Manage QA/QC teams and ensure daily execution of quality control protocols.
Monitor environmental monitoring programs, including swabbing, water testing, and ATP verification.
Oversee CCP verification, metal detector checks, thermometer calibration, and all verification records.
Ensure sanitation programs, SSOP compliance, and pre-operational inspections are completed and documented.
Manage traceability, mock recalls, recall readiness, and documentation for regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with export requirements for shipments to the United States (FDA, USDA/FSIS).
Review and approve supplier documentation, COAs, specifications, and maintain Approved Supplier Program.
Investigate non-conformances, foreign material incidents, and customer complaints; develop CAPA plans.
Verify product labeling, ingredient lists, allergen control, and packaging compliance.
Maintain calibration schedules for QA-related equipment (scales, thermometers, metal detectors, etc.).
Collaborate with production, sanitation, and maintenance teams to ensure food safety is maintained at all times.
Stay current with CFIA/FDA regulatory updates and ensure the facility remains audit-ready.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of QA/QC experience in a
CFIA-regulated food processing facility

Strong knowledge of Canadian food safety laws and regulations, including
HACCP
,
FDA
,
CFIA
, and ideally
SQF
;
Previous experience working in a
meat processing plant
or with RTE meat products is
strongly preferred
;
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to lead regulatory compliance under pressure;
Excellent communication skills in English ;
Legally eligible to work in Canada (PR, citizen, or valid open work permit).
