The Role
Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology, the Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of quality assurance assessments related to program review and services provided to students. In support of evidence-based evaluations, the position will assist service-related departments in the design of appropriate key performance metrics, they conduct evaluation research, the reporting of results, and the formulation of short- and long-term recommendations. The position will assist the academic department in the successful completion of the program review process, optimizing, and improving, and aligning the process to CAQC standards. The Quality Assurance Lead will also coordinate activities within the institutional research department with respect to key accountability requirements, survey cycles, and data governance compliance. Fulfilling these responsibilities requires a broad range of research, evaluation, and project management skills.
The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to four core areas:
Academic program quality assurance:
Provide leadership and expertise in optimizing and improving current quality assurance models for academic programs; review programs for adherence to established quality standards set by the Campus Alberta Quality Council
Assessment of student services:
Provide leadership and expertise in the development and maintenance of effective evaluation models, methods, and systems for services provided to students, and aid service departments in carrying out evaluation activities
Institutional Research support:
Coordinate and monitor the data collection and reporting of key accountability requirements of the Polytechnic, and key institutional surveys.
Data Governance compliance:
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance principles of key performance metrics

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have completed a bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Management, or related field. The bachelor's degree must include courses in evaluation methodology, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and descriptive statistics. In addition, a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a certification in Project Management (PMP or similar) and/or program evaluation (e.g. Credentialed Evaluator or similar).
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
Demonstrated experience in program evaluation and project management in a post-secondary educational system
Superior problem-solving and leadership skills
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Experience in change management in a post-secondary educational system
Knowledge and awareness of the operation of a post-secondary institution and its responsibility to regional stewardship, promoting economic and community development of our region
Experience in conducting, and collecting and analyzing data from surveys, interviews and focus groups
Demonstrated ability to produce timely, reliable, and accurate analytics and reports
Extremely high level of attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy
Demonstrated data analysis and visualization skills using Excel Power Query, PivotTables; NVivo or similar, Excel Charts, Pivot Charts, and slicers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and maintain confidentiality
Must possess a client-service orientation
