The quality inspector is responsible for verifying that manufactured components meet all specified quality standards by conducting thorough inspections using various measurement tools, ensuring compliance with blueprints and production procedures, and identifying any defects to maintain product quality and prevent further issues on the production line. They also document inspection results and may recommend process adjustments to address quality concerns.
Key responsibilities:
Inspecting parts:
Use precision measuring tools like CNC and manual CMM's, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check dimensions and tolerances of machined parts against blueprints and specifications.
Visually inspect for surface defects, blemishes, and proper finish.
Quality control procedures:
Follow established quality control protocols and inspection plans.
Perform first article inspections to verify initial production parts meet requirements.
Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues and take corrective actions.
Documentation and reporting:
Record inspection results and document any deviations from specifications.
Generate detailed inspection reports highlighting quality issues and non-conforming parts.
Communicate findings to production personnel and quality management.
Customer service:
Communicate with customers to resolve problems relating to quality, inspection, and returns and rework.
Required skills:
Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, GD&T and blueprint reading.
Proficiency in using various precision measuring tools like CNC and Manual CMM's, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Excellent attention to the finest details.Ability to identify even minor defects and inconsistencies.
Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations.
Ability to interpret data, analyze root causes of problems, and propose solutions.
Material certification tracing and tracking.
This is a full time position of 40 hours per week. Must have own transportation & the ability to be Controlled Goods Approved, as Techtronics Machine Works Ltd. is part of the Controlled Goods Program with the Federal Government of Canada.
