Job Summary



Reporting to the Quality Manager, the

Quality Assurance Associate

is primarily responsible for the monitoring and quality control of cannabis production on the production floor and help maintain the pharmaceutical QMS. The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with various regulations as it pertains to the Cannabis industry, GPP and GMP. The incumbent will support the Quality Manager and the QAP reviewing batch production records. The role also involves drafting and reviewing documents, product inspections, and monitoring and verification activities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:



Assist in ensuring GMP and GPP compliance throughout the facility. Support coordination of new hires and conducting training in GPPs, GMP and health and safety protocols as required. Support and maintain systems to ensure quality of products as defined through established SOPs. Support with communication, education, and on-going training to ensure quality requirements of all departments are met. Assist with the administration of Outsourced activities such as Pest Control Activities, calibration of instruments, etc. Support In-process monitoring throughout the manufacturing processes. Approval of production events. Monitoring and verification activities as part of the Pharmaceutical QMS. Verification of inventory. Review of batch production records. Support with deviation management, corrective action plans and risk assessments. Record verification, collection, organization, and data entry of data/information. Participate in the creation, review and/or maintenance of SOPs, investigation of deviations and customer complaints. Participate in the initiation and writing of change controls to controlled documents or SOPs as needed to ensure defined quality objectives are met. Read, understand, and follow safe work procedures.

The ideal candidate will have:



Attention to detail. Exceptional communication and writing skills. Initiative-taking, resourceful, and analytical. Experience in the cannabis industry and EU GMP knowledge and/or experience are an asset. Knowledge and previous experience with QMS in the food industry or pharmaceutical. Willingness to learn new techniques and follow directions. Adaptable High work ethic standards.

Bonus Points If You Have:



Experience in quality management systems in cannabis, food or pharma, or other industry if skills are transferable. Experience working under EU GMP requirements.

Education & experience: - A combination of education and experience will be considered.



A combination of a bachelor's degree in science/agricultural-related field and/or a technical Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution. 3 or more years of experience working with and/or having implemented a QMS.

Our Environment:




Plants like heat and humidity. To be successful in this position you need to be comfortable working in an enclosed environment with high heat and humidity, wear protective clothing, hair covering and other Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to some hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.

Conditions of Employment:




All applicants being considered for employment will be required to pass a criminal background check before hire. Initial screening (Medical questionnaire) of staff (to confirm your health does not impact on the quality of our product) is required. Since we produce pharmaceutical products, we need to confirm your health with an annual questionnaire, once a year thereafter.
