Qualitative Researcher (Part-Time)

What is the opportunity?

The successful incumbent will join the CAE Behavioural Science & Risk Culture team and be responsible for supporting the Behavioural Science & Risk Culture practice. This role involves conducting research and providing administrative support for Behavioural Science & Risk Culture projects across the enterprise. The role will report to the Senior Director, Behavioural Science. The role is an individual contributor role.

Please note this is a part-time role with 15 hour per week (or more depending on work volume)

What will you do?

Research:

  • Bring expertise in conducting qualitative interviews with RBC employees across the enterprise and identify key themes with respect to organizational Risk Culture
  • Bring relevant expertise in social science (e.g. organizational behaviour, behavioural science, psychology, ethnography) and/or market research to interpret findings within the domains of risk culture and organizational behaviour.
  • Synthesize findings from qualitative research into key themes for reports
  • Design/program Risk Culture surveys
Support:

Provide administrative support to the behavioural science team by way of:
  • Creating templates and presentations and other relevant research materials
  • Scheduling interviews, meetings and managing calendars
  • Working collaboratively with the team to collect and organize relevant project documents
  • Other tasks that may be needed
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • MA or PhD in Psychology/Social Science/Organizational Behaviour or related fields OR 4+ years of industry experience with market research, qualitative research, or organizational behaviour
  • Strong background in qualitative research
  • The ability to lead semi-structured interviews/discussions, and foster a sense of openness and trust with the interviewee
  • The ability to analyze qualitative data, derive key themes and insights, and clearly communicate findings in oral and written format
  • The ability to create charts, tables and perform data visualization with basic quantitative data
  • Thrive in a team environment and possess ability to challenge and be candid while maintaining strong relationships demonstrating emotional intelligence, tact, and ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn as you go
  • Passion for human behaviour and speaking to people
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience in the financial sector and an understanding of the banking industry
  • Decisive and focused- understands what needs to be done and moves quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
