to join our team at Apothecary Kitchen. The Line Cook plays a critical role in preparing high-quality, plant-based meals, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes with accuracy and consistency.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including proper food storage and labeling, and contributing to the daily cleaning and maintenance of our facility.
Support the kitchen team with prep tasks, portioning, and plating.
Uphold and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely service and smooth workflow.
Assist with inventory rotation, reporting and replenishing low stock.
Support training of junior staff or new hires in proper cooking and safety procedures.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Can effectively manage 3-8 chits at a time.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a professional kitchen (plant-based cooking experience an asset).
Safe Food Handler Certification
(required or willingness to obtain within first 2 weeks).
Strong knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment.
Ability to follow recipes and procedures with excellent attention to detail.
Strong time management and ability to
multitask under pressure
.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
