Job Description

Basic FunctionProvide support to the Chromatography laboratory, by ensuring mobile phase, buffers, glassware, samples, standards, reagents and instruments are ready for testing. Perform dissolution and wet bench chemistry testing for finished product and stability samples to ensure timely completion of testing.Responsibilities Prepare buffers, diluent, and mobile phase for Chromatography Analysts. Help with sample preparation, as required. Perform dissolution testing and wet bench chemistry testing on finished products and stability. Perform support for wet bench chemistry in raw materials area as allowed by training plan. Assemble/label required glassware, chemicals, reagents, samples for Chromatography Analysts to ensure start of shift can be efficient. Prepare vials for HPLC or GC analysis (including filtration as needed). Perform all work within safety guidelines, including proper disposal of all materials, testing residues and solutions. Maintain sufficient stock of test reagents and solutions, including preparation and standardization as required. Use equipment such as HPLC, GC or dissolution system, computer, pH meter, UV/Vis spectrophotometer, etc, as training allows, along with a wide variety of normal laboratory glassware and apparatus such as water baths, steam baths, balances, fume hoods, ovens, etc, to perform tests. Provide accurate, neat, reliable, complete analysis reports, including result entry in computerized reports or Laboratory Information Management System, by following approved test procedures and relevant Standard Operating Procedures, which permit proper evaluation of the sample tested.   • University Degree preferred (BSc) or 3 year College Diploma in related field.
  • Knowledge of USP (United States Pharmacopeia)
  • Understanding of GMP and preferred 2 years' experience in Pharmaceutical QC Laboratory
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experienced Instrumentation skills related to Waters HPLCs and Perkin Elmer equipment an asset
  • Ability to perform in a team environment
  • Flexibility in shift work as required by business need
