The Quality Assurance Technician has a high level of attention to detail, is an assertive, engaging and energetic individual responsible for the strict adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements. Through the performance of day-to-day quality assurance activities such as inspections, internal audits, reporting non-conformance's and implementing low risk immediate corrective actions, the Quality Assurance Technician ensures the safety and quality of products processed and produced.

Required Skills



Interpersonal Skills: Technicians must be able to speak with fellow employees, department managers and senior management. Problem-Solving Skills: Technicians must be able to quickly establish a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the Food Safety program in house. Time Management: Technicians face deadlines, audits, meetings and must manage their time accordingly. Leadership Skills: Technicians must be able to motivate fellow employees to keep up with paper work, food safety protocols and daily check-ins.

Responsibilities



Contribute to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety standards. Perform quality assurance checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation and warehouse functions of the company Maintain daily label and lot coding records in conjunction with plant team Conduct and report on Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) audits twice daily for each production line Provide on-site training to the employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), GMP and Food Safety Procedures Document all QA activities accurately and timely Ongoing assessment of inspection results and escalation of potentially problematic inspection findings Food Safety & Quality Assurance Coordinator in a timely manner Verification of testing equipment such as thermometers and scales Conduct microbial testing for raw material, finished product Conduct product quality inspection throughout production lines to ensure compliance with Food Safety standards Quality assessment & documentation of incoming goods Responsible for quality of food standards Responsible for managing the quality system Plan quality and food safety measures and evaluations Maintain system up to date Provide recommendations and instruction on hygiene and quality related issues Responsible for creating corrective action plans and continuous improvement on quality and food safety Other duties as required

Qualifications



5 years experience in the food industry in a QA position, preferably for a food manufacturer. Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills are vital for this position Knowledge of food safety programs, GMP programs and Quality Systems Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
