Position Overview


As a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring all food products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards by monitoring production, conducting tests, and analyzing data. This full-time, permanent position involves close collaboration with production and quality teams, making it perfect for an analytical thinker ready to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Role & Responsibilities



Quality Inspections & Testing: Perform routine inspections and microbial tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with food safety standards; test samples for key quality parameters (e.g., pH levels, moisture content, micros, flavor profiles, texture, color); inspect production equipment for cleanliness and proper functioning, ensuring hygiene standards; inspect returns thoroughly and decide their disposition; conduct routine inspections of raw materials and finished products to ensure food safety and best quality. Document Control & Reporting: Record and document test results, inspection findings, and corrective actions in compliance with company standards; maintain accurate records of quality control data, certifications, and regulatory documentation; prepare detailed reports on quality control findings and suggest improvements or corrective actions. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products meet regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, or other relevant standards, and assist in audits or inspections by regulatory bodies; stay up to date with food safety regulations and industry best practices. Product Analysis & Corrective Actions: Identify quality issues or non-conformities during inspections and initiate corrective actions; work with the production team to implement solutions and monitor effectiveness; participate in root cause analysis and provide recommendations to improve production processes. Process Improvement & Quality Standards: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of quality control procedures; assist in the development and training of production staff on quality standards and food safety practices; collaborate with the QA team to refine and implement food safety protocols, HACCP plans, and other quality systems. Equipment Calibration & Maintenance: Ensure that laboratory instruments and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained; perform periodic checks and recalibration of equipment used for quality testing.

Qualifications



Education: Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (Preferred). Experience: Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance within the food industry is required; familiarity with food safety standards, CFIA, SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, etc.). Skills & Competencies: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills; excellent organizational and time-management abilities; good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and basic data entry; knowledge of laboratory equipment and quality testing techniques; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
