The role of QA (Quality Assurance) and QC (Quality Control) Manager is essential to promoting continuous improvement, preserving product integrity, and fostering a culture of quality within the organization. It is also essential to ensuring that products comply with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Site Operations Director, this manager works closely with the Operations, Engineering, and Compliance teams to ensure that our quality procedures are followed and that our customers receive high-quality results. He/she is part of a global Quality team and interacts with his/her international counterparts, under the direction of the Vice President of Global Quality.


Responsibilities:

Coordinate all QA/QC activities, including the direction and management of QA and QC teams (inspectors, analysts, and quality engineers). Oversee the effectiveness of the quality management system (QMS), its maintenance, and recommend improvements and their implementation as necessary. Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and other applicable standards. Develop and monitor key quality indicators (e.g., PPM, RMA rate) and lead initiatives to improve performance. Coordinate internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections and customer audits. Ensure prompt and thorough investigation of non-conformities, CAPAs, and customer complaints. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain departments to integrate quality into all processes. Maintain accurate documentation and lead management reviews on quality performance. Train and mentor quality staff and ensure ongoing professional development. Promote a strong culture of quality within the organization through relevant actions and programs.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related field (master's degree preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in international quality assurance/control, including at least 3 years in a management position. Solid knowledge of QMS standards and regulatory requirements (ISO9001). Proven experience in conducting audits, managing teams, and improving quality. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Other qualifications required:

Experience in a manufacturing or medical device environment. Six Sigma, ASQ, or similar quality systems certification. Familiarity with ERP and QMS software platforms. Exceptional responsiveness to customer requests. Demonstrated ability to use Six Sigma tools. Excellent communication skills, excellent leadership qualities, and ability to thrive in a constantly changing and improving environment. Direct experience in the high-tech sector with optoelectronics-related products would be an asset.
