We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven
Quality Assurance (QA) Manager
to lead our Quality Management System (QMS) and quality team within the demanding aerospace industry. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maximizing profitability through exceptional quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS) & Compliance
Serve as the management representative for the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring its effectiveness, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Manage NADCAP and AS9100 Compliance
,
Ensure absolute compliance with all customer, regulatory (e.g., FAA, EASA), and industry standards.
Lead RCA for NCR and Corrective Action activities across all departments to eliminate recurring quality issues.
Manage and monitor all Calibration and QA PM activities and records to ensure the accuracy and reliability of inspection and measurement equipment.
Strategic Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Review, revise, and implement strategic QA objectives aligned with business goals to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
Drive organizational change and improvements in overall performance, process efficiency, and product quality.
Technical & Process Oversight
Provide expert QA oversight and technical guidance for specialized aerospace processes, including
Chemical Processing, Paint, and Welding
.
Document Inspection results for full FAI submittal
Ability to effectively use and train QA team in use of standard measuring tools.
Oversee the effective handling of non-conforming material (MRB) and ensure robust material traceability throughout the manufacturing cycle.
Experience with Incoming
Receiving Inspection
, In-Process and Final Inspection and reports.
Generate and analyze comprehensive scrap and rework reports, translating data into actionable strategies for cost and waste reduction.
Reporting & Team Management
Develop, implement, and track key
QA measurables
(KPIs) such as First Pass Yield (FPY), Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and audit compliance, reporting performance to senior leadership.
Manage the
hiring, training, and professional development
for all QA team members, fostering a high-performing and quality-focused culture.
Mentor and coach QA personnel in quality tools, problem-solving methodologies, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education:
4+ years of relevant university-level education in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum of
5 years of progressive experience
in Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a management role within the
aerospace industry
.
Certifications:
Proven, demonstrable
experience with NADCAP and AS9100
.
Technical Expertise:
Strong working knowledge and experience overseeing quality in aerospace
Chem Processing, Welding, and Paint
.
Leadership:
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cultural change and interact effectively with customers, regulatory bodies, and all internal levels of management.
Analytical Skills:
Proficient in statistical process control (SPC), measurement systems analysis (MSA), and other data-driven quality tools.
