QA Lead Vancouver/Hybrid Until November 30th + extension to come
Job Profile
You will be a key contributor embedded within a Digital cross functional team, responsible for developing and delivering automation in line with an agile delivery team which utilises maximum automation. You will also be part of the wider QA & Test Discipline to contribute to the evolution of the automation frameworks utilised.
Responsibilities:

  • Create, drive and build test strategies that are robust, reusable and scalable
  • Have strong experience conducting system, integration and acceptance testing, writing test scripts, delivering quality driven applications in line with test strategies
  • Work with both your team and other cross functional teams to plan and execute tests using the latest UI/Mobile test automation technologies, processes and tools to deliver frequently, safely and efficiently for millions of the customers
  • Collaborate with architects to ensure solutions adhere to their principles and direction
  • Lead, mentor, up-skill and inspire other automation engineers
Implement all test activities (Behaviour Driven Development, System API, Exploratory Test, Accessibility Test etc.) are adhere to the Global Test Strategy.
  • Work across all global activities and support the across functional team in ensuring any testing related dependencies / touch points are in place.
  • Facilitating the definition of the end to end Test Environment to support the Test approach for Acceptance and Exploratory.
  • Provide recommendations to the Product Owner and/or other project stakeholders on the product readiness to go live.
  • Provide on-going input into the overall process improvement of the Testing discipline

Principle Accountabilities
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for quality deliverables and testing related activities within the agile development lifecycle.
  • Represent testing across the project and be accountable for defining, shaping and agreeing the testing schedules in context of the whole project schedules
  • Ability to resolve testing related impediments together with the scrum team
  • Active contribution to evolve the overall test strategy
  • Proven track record of delivery of medium to large projects and programmes
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
  • Sound domain knowledge on Wealth products including equities
  • Broad experience of automated and manual testing types, including; Unit, Functional, Non Functional, Regression, Exploratory, User Acceptance Testing, Ad-hoc and Compatibility
  • Experience in driving test automation strategy, system API testing and Exploratory testing in the digital products.
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD automation servers, preferably Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of technical automation testing framework adhering the principles of BDD, TDD and ATDD
  • Sound experience of at least one of Browser Stack, Sauce Labs, Appium, Calabash, TestCloud or other Cloud Service Testing Framework
  • Good understanding of web technologies e.g. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ReST and JSON
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively and deliver within agreed service levels in a diverse and ever changing environment
  • Successful co-ordination and delivery of services involving elements delivered by teams internal and external
  • High levels of judgement and decision making, being able to rationalize and present the background and reasoning for direction taken
  • A detailed understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies Scrum and Kanban
  • Extensive experience of using an object orientated programming language, preferably Java
  • Knowledge of software design patterns - Singleton, Builder, Page Object Model
  • Broad experience of working on and testing applications running on different operating systems (Windows, MacOs, iOS, Android)
  • Practical experience of Test automation on a broad range of Mobile Devices and simulator
Performance Testing experience using JMeter or similar tools
  • Good understanding of UI testing on market leading browsers: Chrome, Safari, IE, FireFox, Opera
  • Hands on experience of API testing within a microservices architecture
  • Experience in writing and delivering test plans, test cases and regression packs to enable defect detection and solution validation
  • Previous exposure to collaboration tools such as Jira, for test and issue/bug management
  • Ability to collaborate with developers - pair programming and reviewing unit tests
  • Test automation experience of REST and SOAP based web services
  • Use of automation for Test Data creation and having a good understanding of why this is needed
  • Working knowledge of build tools, preferably Gradle
  • Competent with source control management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Nexus
  • Some experience of security testing with Checkmarx/SonarQube
  • Good understanding of mobile/server associated technologies e.g. Swift, Kotlin, JavaScript, SQL, Oracle, Spring
